Where you’ll be
This old cottage is full of character, with low ceilings, beams and bumpy walls, and is comfortably furnished with a large sitting room featuring two large sofas and a wood burning stove.
There are two bedrooms with super king beds, one with an en-suite bathroom; another bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite shower room; bedroom 4 has a standard double bed; and bedroom 5 is a family room with a double bed and bunk beds.
We love beautiful bed linen and quality duvets, so we've furnished all the rooms with these for added luxury.
The top floor bedroom has low ceilings and is accessed via a narrow, slightly steep staircase. With a super king bed, en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, kettle, tea tray and views over neighbouring paddocks, it's a lovely retreat and not one you'll want to leave in a hurry!
There are two baths: one in the top bedroom en-suite and another in the main bathroom with a very good shower over the bath, as well as a lovely spacious walk-in digital shower in the en-suite to bedroom 2.
There are two kitchens, both containing the usual appliances – fridge/freezer, cooker with double oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher & washer/dryer. One kitchen opens into a dining/sitting area with bi-fold doors on two sides opening to the garden and a second wood burning stove.
There is also a ground floor cloakroom. Travel cots, high chairs, booster seats, stair gates and a fire guard are available if required.
We have a large dining table seating 13. Dogs are very welcome, but we do ask that they stay downstairs and off the furniture.
There is a small, lawned private garden to the front of the cottage and an enclosed rear garden with a swing, hammock and furnished summerhouse.
There are plenty of really good pubs and restaurants nearby. Just 20 minutes from Peppa Pig World! 7kW Type 2 EV ChargePoint. Full Fibre Internet is available with good coverage throughout the house.
I have a comprehensive manual for the cottage, maps and local information.
A welcome basket of logs, kindling, firelighters & matches will be provided in the cottage for Spring, Autumn & Winter stays.
Further logs can be purchased from the onsite log store £5 per basket
Cycle hire available to order from Delivered to the cottage for the start of your holiday.

Getting around
The New Forest is a great destination, With walks and trails close to most of our New Forest cottages, exploration will be easy!
Rail There are good rail connections from the Lymington, Brockenhurst, and Sway train stations to major transport hubs like Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole and London. The lines run through some eye catching country even before reaching the National Park, so put away your gadgets and enjoy the views. Travelling by train within the National Park, there are routes which run between Brockenhurst and Lymington, and also from Ashurst to Christchurch as part of the longer route between London and Weymouth. These routes are all operated by South Western Railway.
Cycling There are a few major roads that cut across the New Forest but there are still plenty of lanes and back roads to explore, making it a great place to navigate on two wheels. You’re never more than a few miles from civilisation in any direction, yet you do truly feel like you have left suburbia behind. Along the way, there will be plenty of towns, villages and pubs to discover. Cycle routes are found the length and breadth of the National Park – read the guide to cycling in the New Forest where you'll find the best New Forest cycle trails and plenty of other tips.
Cycle hire is available at forest leisure cycling and if you book early they will deliver bikes to the cottage. There is a covered bike rack available to store up to 8 bikes.
Neighborhood
Burley Tea rooms, gift shops, art galleries - even a cider farm! Burley features everything you would expect from a traditional New Forest village. Oozing old world charm, with ponies and cattle roaming around the village and pretty thatched cottages, Burley has remained untouched by time. Here you will find a traditional butchers, village stores and cosy inns.
Don’t forget to look out for the New Forest ponies and cattle as they roam freely around the village. Although these animals might look and act wild, they are in fact all owned by locals using their commoner’s rights.
People have lived in the Burley area since prehistoric times. Over twenty Bronze Age burial mounds are found near to the village and on the edge of Burley, at Castle Hill, is the site of an Iron Age hillfort.
